Electrical Work

After feedback from our customers we have now included a pricelist on our site to give you some idea of how much particular jobs will cost. We believe this is in-keeping with our ethos of being transparent with our customers and operating with integrity.

Pricelist
All prices are a guide to labour costs and subject to change depending on the condition of your home, wiring and appliances. For multiple jobs or larger projects, please call for a quote and potential site-visit. Any jobs that are priced on a day rate will be charged at £280 per day based on 8-hour days.

Light fitting change £25 - 75

Additional costs due to condition of ceiling, decorative coving and condition of existing wiring. Further costs for kinetic and app-related switching.

Additional sockets

from £25 - 200

£25 for replacement using socket converters which replace single sockets directly into doubles. Additional charges may be incurred for extending circuits, chasing cables and testing required to ensure circuits can handle additional sockets. Surface-mounted trunking and sockets are cheaper. If you require wires to be 'chased-in', we will 'make smooth' but you may require plasterer/decorator afterwards.

Replacement Consumer Unit

from £350

The basic price assumes you already have an isolation switch in place, the existing wiring has no faults and meets current standards; and will cover up to 5 circuits as standard. Additional costs will be incurred for additional circuits, any time spent rectifying faults, extending circuits if consumer unit position is required to move and/or replacing tails. The price includes a pre-EICR to identify any faults, an EIC with Building Regulations Notification, once the work is complete.

EICR

from £100

Basic price based on a 1-bed flat with up to 5 circuits. A typical 3-bedroom house will cost around £180. A 5-bedroom house can range up to £280. Additional costs for extensions, rooms in the roof, outdoor/garden electrics, annexes, etc. Having a copy of your previous EICR will reduce the cost and provide a more in-depth assessment of your home electrics.

Ventilation

from £80

Based on the replacement of a pre-existing extractor fan that doesn't require new ducting or grills. If installing everything as new (including wiring and core-drilling) job can cost upwards of £250 based on accessibility. Horizontal vents will be run through rigid ducting. Vertical vents running through loft will be run through insulated ducting. If you are aiming to meet building regulations and achieve planning permission, we can ensure compliance through recommended products.

Fault finding £35 for the first hour, £20 per hour there after

You are paying for use of equipment and expertise. If the problem can't be rectified on the day of the visit without additional materials being purchased, you will not need to pay an additional call-out fee for remedial works.

House Re-wire

2-bed from £2,000 up to £3,500

3-bed from £3,000 up to £4,500

4-bed from £4,000 up to £5,500.

This is a price guide and a quote can only be provided after a site-visit.

Why there might be additional costs and things to consider; is the property empty? Type of consumer unit required? Number of light fittings, switches, sockets and fuse-spurs? Accessibility to walls, floors and attic spaces? If you require cables to be chased into wall then we will 'make smooth' but you will require a plasterer/decorator.
